Balance and combining methods are by far the most frequently appearing concepts within the discipline of philosophy, along with cooperation, peace, and common-sense applications to quality of life issues. Broad-spectrum, human well-being seems to be the primary directive of the meaning of life. Traditional approaches to most of the deep questions are proving to be fundamentally flawed and riddled with complex problems. It is impossible to please all of the people all of the time, or to obtain their approval and support.
Self-monitoring and evaluation of our own attitudes and beliefs help us maintain honesty with ourselves. Moderation and avoidance of extreme dogma, selfish interests and absolutes promotes critical awareness. The middle position and a combination approach reflect the experience of a lifetime and critical survival skills. Ethical consideration of the rights and needs of others encourages responsible adult accountability and common sense solutions. Religious tolerance and celebration of cultural diversity, promoting partnerships and globalization are the horizon for the future of philosophy. When we do what we know is right, we feel good about ourselves and are in a better position to achieve satisfaction, peace and happiness.
